Purpose of the Role:
The Farm & Grounds Manager is responsible for care and maintenance of The Aerial’s land with a focus on developing the on island-to-table farm as well as overseeing the landscaping and ensuring the wellbeing and safety of our animals.

This includes ensuring the crops' environment allows them to flourish, maintaining the farm irrigation system, harvesting food crops, and tending to livestock. The Farm & Grounds Manager will also contribute to the guest experience by presenting and educating on our island-to-table dining mission. The organic and regenerative farm is central to The Aerial’s island-to-table experience, so the Farm & Grounds Manager will work closely with The Aerial’s award-winning kitchen team to develop menus.

This role oversees the landscaping element of the island and is responsible for overseeing the care and maintenance of all plants and landscaped areas on Buck Island and Bar Bay. This includes but is not limited to the ability to install and maintain the irrigation systems, evaluation and application of necessary pesticides and vitamins, maintenance of all pest control systems, as well as general plant care, clearing, raking and pruning, maintaining the beach areas and managing the seaweed.

The Farm & Grounds Manager will contribute to leading the islands sustainability efforts, including composting and recycling.

Qualifications / Experience:

Experience managing a Grounds Team in a resort or luxury property
Experience of nurturing plants, trees and grass, and identifying and treating disease
Experienced in irrigation installation and trouble shooting
Experience in growing organic fruits & vegetables in the Caribbean for commercial use
Experience in leading guests tours related to flora & fauna and farm experience
Experience caring for indigenous wildlife
Ability to use WhatsApp, email, google drive, google docs & google sheets
Ability to plan team schedules
Ability to put together purchase orders and calculate required materials for projects
Driving license required
Passion for a healthy lifestyle and keen to learn about health and wellness
